What is Roof Coating?
The roof coating, we use is an elastomer which displays the properties of a synthetic rubber in allowing flexibility as the roof substrate expands and contracts during temperature fluctuations. The white coating reflects as much as 92% of the sun’s UV/heat rays away from the building keeping the inside cooler reducing energy costs. The sun’s UV rays are the leading cause of deterioration to traditional flat or low- pitch roofs because as the rooftop dries out its surface cracks, splits, tears, rips and loses flexibility. Thus, the reflective capabilities of the roof coating reduce aging while increasing the roofs life span. By maintaining maintenance of the roof’s coating through periodic inspections and renewal of the coating when necessary, the life span of the roof could last as long as the building.
Intent
The coating was designed to protect flat and low slope roofs from the elements (moisture and UV rays) consequently extending the life of your roof to quite possibility the life of the building- provided the coating is maintained. There are reported claims that a white spray roof coating can cool the insides of a commercial building by as much as 20 degrees.
Weather Risks During Application
Usually the coating can dry in about 24 hours during a hot dry day, but should not be installed during a rainy, humid, and windy day because moisture will cause bubbles or blistering and thinning within the coat.
Roof restoration
Roof coatings can be applied over an existing flat or low pitch roof to avoid costly tear off and replacement (reduced material costs and labor fees), Application is very low key and fast- allowing business, under the roof, to take place as usual. The coating will seal microscopic holes when applied to a roof in fairly good condition. However, serious maintenance issues for the existing roof, such as leaks, cracking, split seams, blistering and excessive granule loss (for BUR roofs) should be repaired before a roof coating is undertaken.

Where can it be Used?
It was designed to be used over low-slope or flat roofs- pitch must be less than 14 degrees. The roof must be one of the following constructions:
- Asphalt- BUR and Mod Bit
- Concrete
- Single-Ply Membranes- TPO, EPDM, Hypalon, and PVC
- Metal
- SPF- Spray Polyurethane Foam
